Greetings and Salutations. As many of you probably know by now, both Ms. Milligan and Ms. Chupp are on parental leave. Ms. Milligan will be returning in January and Ms. Chupp has decided to stay home with her new little one and won’t be returning. Dr. Theresa Kruczek and Dr. Renae Mayes will be serving as site supervisors and temporary counselors in the Counseling Center until the December break begins. Mr. Mike Will will also be providing support in the counseling office.
We’re excited to have our school counseling intern, Natalie Swihart with us for the whole academic year and we have two school counseling practicum students — Lacy Roberts and Josh Rauguth – who’ve begun working in the office this past month. Lacy and Josh will also be here for the remainder of the school year. Our student school psychologist Taura Tenn is providing some counseling services too. We also wanted to let you know that we’ve temporarily said good bye to the undergraduate student mentors – Allie and Bailey. We should have new undergraduate student mentors though beginning in January when Ms. Milligan returns.
Drs. Mayes and Kruczek are excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Burris community. We’re only here part time though and so the office is a little short staffed. We ask for your patience as we’re trying to prioritize our support to address students with the most urgent needs first.
Mr. Will is also joining us in the counseling center. He is here to help students with schedules and provide assistance for anyone working through their college and scholarship applications.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or questions. Thanks again and we look forward to working with you over the next couple of months.
