• Visitors to Burris during school hours should enter at Door 1, on the south side of the building, near the Burris playground, and sign in at the office.

    Parking

    Free Street Parking

Free parallel parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis on city streets south of Burris.

    Metered, Permit and Handicapped Parking

Metered parking, permit parking and handicap parking are available through lots owned and managed by Ball State University’s Office of Parking Services.

Metered surface lots are limited to 45 minutes.

All parking facilities, except parking meters and metered floors of parking garages, require a permit during enforcement hours. All lots have entrance signs stating the enforcement hours.

    See the enforcement hours.

To avoid being ticketed, you can purchase a visitor permit for $5 a day. Visitor parking is permitted only in Yellow- and Green-marked lots on campus and does not allow for parking at a meter or in paid areas of garages.

    Buy a visitor permit.

See the Ball State parking map.

    Handicap parking

Handicap parking is also available; however, you are still required to purchase a visitor permit and display your state-issued placard or license plate while on campus.

Free parking for parents and guardians dropping off and picking up students is available at two lots. Parents and guardians should remain with their vehicles, and do not need a parking permit or to pay the meters.

    Drop-off and pick-up lots

    • Lot P14: A metered lot located north of Burris, near Lucina Hall, off University Avenue.
    • The combined H6 and G-10 lot south of campus, off Gilbert Street.

    Drop-Off Don’ts

    • Do not park in the loading dock lot next to the Burris playground. The lot becomes congested and dangerous when there is too much traffic.
    • Do not park on the street next to the crossing guards. (See map.)

The map below shows pick-up and drop-off locations.
    See the parking map here.
